Dandruff is super common. Unfortunately, it's manageable but not curable.

Common treatment of dandruff requires using a medication anti-dandruff shampoo. Active ingredients like zinc pyrithione and selenium sulfide are anti-microbial to help due down on malassezia, while salicylic acid & tar helps to remove dead skin and sebum buildup.

👉🏻Tips:
I recommend leaving shampoo on for 5 minutes, and use 2-3x weekly. These can be drying so always follow with a hydrating conditioner afterwards.

For those with dry, sensitive scalp, use a more hydrating shampoo with no fragrance. Look for formulas with antioxidants and soothing ingredients.

Remember for severe cases, prescription topicals are necessary, and poorly controlled seb derm can definitely lead to hair loss. Always see a derm if it’s not improving.
