High Alpine Camp with my dog - a challenging adventure in the New Zealand Alps

Join me and my dog Indi for an adventure as we a climb a mountain in the Southern Alps of New Zealand in search of epic views, and a magical camping spot. I set off on this challenging hike hoping to achieve my goal of camping alongside a beautiful high mountain lake, out in the open, without a tent. I knew it would be a hard walk and there was little information to help me prepare. It certainly was a challenge, complete with climbing, route finding, and even gun shots. It was also full of humour, surprise and fun. Camping with a dog has it's own challenges, but it was wonderful to have Indi along on this adventure. She was such great company and loved every minute of it. I am not sure what I enjoyed best, the incredible views, the wide open wild spaces, the lakes, the river, the waterfall, or the forest. There was so much beauty and awe in this journey. I really hope you enjoy coming along with us.
