How to install heated grips on your motorcycle? - Step by Step!

In this video I will show you how to install heated grips on your motorcycle. It is very easy process, almost everybody could do it and usually takes about an hour. The grips I am going to use are Oxford Adventure. The reason I choose this model instead of another is because this could be directly wired to the battery. You don't need to route it to ACC. The control unit, detect when the voltage drops and turn the grips off.

Step one is to remove the old grips. If they were glued before, you might need to cut it with knife to be able to remove it.

Step two is to clean the handlebar from old grips or glue. Make it properly, because otherwise you might not be able to install the new grips. If necessary use sandpaper.

Step three is to install the new grips. Do it gently, but rotating and pushing at the same time. Do not bang or hammer it! Yo might damage the wires inside! After that connect the power cable to the battery. Positive to positive, negative to negative. Do not add any glue before you test the system and you are 100% that everything work properly.

Step four. After you made a successful test it's time to glue the grips. I will recommend to use slow glue, not instant. This will give you the chance to make some correction if you make any mistakes. Be careful with the position of the throttle and left grip cables. They need to be positioned to correct to ensure free play.

That's it. Start the bike and enjoy the ride with your new motorcycle heated grips.
