The Solar System is our specific star system, named after our star, the Sun (Sol in Latin), and includes the Sun, its eight planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and other celestial bodies gravitationally bound to it. Formation

Location
Our Solar System is located in the Milky Way galaxy, in a region known as the Orion star cluster.
The Milky Way galaxy contains billions of other stars, many of which are also believed to have their own planetary systems.
