Quick tech tip on a 2012 VW Passat 3.6L showing an unusual electrical issue - the instrument cluster turns on by itself after the ignition is switched off.

After scanning and testing, the cause was traced to a faulty driver-side sun visor with Homelink (garage opener) causing internal electrical interference. Moving the visor would turn the cluster on and off. Replacing the sun visor resolved the issue.

Codes Found (in various modules):

VAG01321 - Airbag control module: No communication

VAG00778 - Steering angle sensor: No communication

VAG01309 - Power steering control module

U042400 - Invalid data from HVAC control module

P019600 - Engine oil temp sensor "A" range/ performance

P150A00 - Ignition OFF signal duration implausible

U015100 - Lost communication with restraints module

U111100 - Function restriction due to missing message
