Asphalt is a mixture of aggregates, binder and filler, used for constructing and maintaining roads, parking areas, railway tracks, ports, airport runways, bicycle lanes, sidewalks and also play- and sport areas. Aggregates used for asphalt mixtures could be crushed rock, sand, gravel or slags.
How to calculate Quantity of Asphalt Road in curve.
Width of road = 4 meter
Thickness of the road = 15 centimeter or 0.150m
Length of curve = 274.200 meter
Therefore, the volume of asphalt = L x W x T = 274.200 x 4 x 0.15 (15 cm = 0.15 m) = 164.52 m3
Here, density of asphalt is taken as 2330 kg/m3
Therefore, quantity of asphalt = volume of road section x density of asphalt
=164.52 x 2330 =383331.6 kg=383.33 tons (dividing by 1000)
