Beyond Genetics: Illuminating the Epigenome to Transform Patient Care.

Far too often genetics doesn’t provide answers. While the field is progressing rapidly, our clinicians, patients and their families face thousands of ambiguous findings every day. London Health Sciences Centre is on a mission to resolve the unresolvable, to provide diagnoses where genetics has failed to do so. As a major academic health science centre with a regional Cancer program, Medical Genetics program and dedicated Children’s Hospital all serving a large region in Ontario, Canada, LHSC provides a comprehensive range of genetic centre services across all acquired and constitutional molecular diagnostic areas. With a long-history of genetic diagnostics experiences, LHSC is acutely aware of the limitations of genetics and is pioneering the use of whole-genome epigenomics in clinical care. LHSC’s Advanced Clinical and Translational Genome Centre is leading these efforts as a unique fully-integrated R&D and ISO-15189 certified clinical laboratory. Bringing together dedicated researchers, R&D staff, clinicians, technologists and business leaders has created a powerful innovation engine and accelerate translation. As a world-leader in Clinical Epigenomics, LHSC actively partners internationally to bring new innovations to patients and clinicians everywhere, but also to pursue breakthrough research projects which can be immediately brought to market.
