A conversation between acclaimed journalist and documentary film producer Steve Crump with WIS Anchor Judi Gatson.

In his more than 40 year career, Steve Crump has covered some of the most critical news events of our time and produced numerous documentaries on the Civil Rights Movement. He has covered moments and figures including John Lewis; the Orangeburg Massacre; school desegregation; Rock Hill’s sit in demonstrators, the “Friendship Nine”; and Columbia’s Sarah Mae Flemming, who protested bus segregation 17 months before Rosa Parks.

As he, with his wife Cathy, prepared to donate his rich collection of films, papers, and interviews to University of South Carolina Libraries, we previewed some of this amazing material and heard from him about his extraordinary career.
