I get asked about this ALL THE TIME!

"What should a pitcher's pre game routine be like?"

It should make you feel GOOD; it should make you feel most CONFIDENT.

Not every pitcher's pregame warm up will look the same!

Why? Becuase we all think and feel differently! We aren't meant to do things 100% exactly the same!

One thing though: for MOST pitchers, treating it like a lesson and focusing a ton on mechanics is not helpful!

I was always taught practice is for the TEACHING MINDSET. - learning, trying new things, taking in new info.

Games are for the TRUSTING MINDSET. - trusting in your preparation & practice.

Here are a few things I go by:

1) Should be under 30 min.

2) Should be the same every time.

3) Should have some of your favorite drills.

When reflecting on my own warm up, I figured out these were the things I wanted to accomplish:

a) Find your spin.
b) Find your release point.
c) Find your legs.
d) Find your giddy up.
e) Find your focus.

^ REFLECT: What drills do YOU do that makes you feel these things? Find one for each A-E and have that be your warm up. It's truly whatever makes YOU feel best and makes YOU feel most prepared so that YOU can dominate.
