The Benefits Of Specialized Roles in Healthcare Advocacy

Описание к видео The Benefits Of Specialized Roles in Healthcare Advocacy

Speaker: Shawn Newton, Pharmacy Technician / Medication Access Coordinator, Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah

In this session, we will discuss a model that highlights why our Medication Access Coordinators are assigned work under a few correlated diseases, rather than by an alpha-split or by dividing a work-queue into equal numbers, for instance.
The Medication Access Coordinators have specialties and service providers based on the same specialties. So, for instance, I service providers in the Leukemia, Lymphoma, MDS, and bleeding/clotting disorder clinics.

Objectives:
To understand the benefits (and limitations) of the specialized model. To describe the process at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and answer any questions about it.To demonstrate, in a role-play scenario, how this model works in real-time.
