This is an instructional video on 'How to Correctly Install a Roof Hook' which is one of the most important parts when installing solar panels on a roof. 

Firstly, a roof tile is lifted to allow the roof hook to be securely fixed to the rafter.  We have allowed good clearance with the roof hook so that there is no contact between the roof hook and the roof tiles. 

Next, we mark out exactly where the roof hook will sit in relation to the tile, and grind out about half of the depth of the tile so it does not rest on the hook, and sits flush with the existing roofline.

The tile is then put back into place. As you can see, the tile and the roof hook aren't in contact with each other and we're ready to install the rails onto the hooks, which will then create the frame for the panels to be mounted onto during the next stage.
