In this tutorial, I will tell you the meaning of the most common Rheem tankless water heater codes that users often face with the exact indication. Also, I will show you the instant solutions.

Here are the quick fixes for you to those particular issues:

No error code means water is flowing through the unit, but there is no hot water.

To fix the no error code, increase the water flow rate. Ensure hot and cold water lines are not crossed. Clean water inlet filter. Check & replace the bad water flow sensor.

Error code 11 indicates ignition failure.

To repair error code 11, ensure the use of the right gas type, gas pressure, and gas volume to the unity.

Then check the gas control valve for open or short circuits.

Next, ensure the igniter rod and flame rod are operational.

At last, if needed, replace the bad control board.

Error code 12 implies flame failure.

To fix error code 12, ensure gas type and pressure are correct.

Then clean all the blockages from the gas supply lines.

Next, check the flame rod status and clean it with steel wool.

Moreover, inspect the flame rod wiring harness for any loose or damaged connection.

Finally, replace the bad flame rod.

Error code 13 denotes improper combustion.

To fix error code 13, remove any blockages from the venting.

As well, as ensure intake and exhaust venting meet all installation requirements.

Then verify the altitude setting, and if needed adjust it.

At last, check the flame rod FL-2 4 & blower motor.

At last, inspect Overheat Wrap and if needed replace it.

and heat exchanger temperature is too low (Mid-efficiency model).

To fix error code 29, clean air inlet screen and heat exchanger fins for any blockages.

Then inspect the neutralizer and clean it.

After that clear neutralizer drainage line outside of the unit.

Also, check the neutralizer water level electrode.

Error code 61 indicate blower motor failure.

To fix error code 61, check the wiring harness to the motor for damaged or loose connections.

As well ensure the blower motor will turn freely.

After some time, check venting length not to exceed max lengths and bend.

Error code 76 imply communication fault.

To repair error code 76, check remote control wiring for loose or damaged connections.

Then bypass the remote control.

Finally, if needed, replace the bad remote control or PCB.

Error code 99 denotes blower motor is failing to vent.

To remove error code 99, clean the blockages from the venting lines.
Then clean the blocked heat exchanger as well.

And replace the bad blower motor.

Error code E5 signify high water pressure.

To fix error code E5, adjust the water pressure.

Error code P1 means water flow is too low.

To adjust error code P1, increase the water flow rate from the water shut-off valves.
