How to fill out your Texas homestead exemption form

If you bought a home last year don’t forget to fill out your homestead exemption to lower your annual property taxes. Below are the links to the Central Texas appraisal districts where you can mail in your form.

The deadline to file is April 30th and you can’t file it until you own the home on January 1st. Beware of mailings asking for a fee to submit this form. It’s FREE to submit! Be sure to check if you qualify for the disabled, over 65 or other exemptions. If you have questions, call your tax appraisal district or comment below.
