For the first time since 2007, Canadian Pacific 2816 has returned to the states as part of the Canadian Pacific Kansas City “Final Spike Steam Tour”, a massive systemwide tour operating between Calgary, Alberta and Mexico City, Mexico. The tour marks the one year anniversary of the merger of two Class I railroads, Canadian Pacific and Kansas City Southern, creating the first railroad that passes through Canada, the United States, and Mexico. Canadian Pacific H1b 4-6-4 “Hudson” #2816 is the star of the tour, having been restored to immaculate condition and equipped with PTC to lead trains in the states. This video features scenes of the Empress from the St. Paul, Minnesota to Franklin Park, Illinois and Franklin Park to Davenport, Iowa legs of the tour, crossing through 4 states as it makes its way south to the border of Mexico.
