The Triffids And The Wonderful Songs Of David McComb

Описание к видео The Triffids And The Wonderful Songs Of David McComb

The Triffids were one of the great bands. Coming from Perth, Western Australia in the 1980s, they mesmerized their fans with extraordinary atmospheric songs that evoked lonely landscapes and lonelier characters. Songs like Red Pony, Raining Pleasure, Wide Open Road. At their core was the late great David McComb, an important songwriter and voice in music. Their 1986 album 'Born Sandy Devotional' is considered a masterpiece and in over just 10 years they left a body of work that endures to this day. By some kind of dream musician-singer-songwriter Mark Corcoran and a few fellow musicians gathered together to play Triffid songs. It was Sunday and they were joined by David’s brother and fellow Triffid Robert McComb. They were there to pay tribute to David. Prior to this amazing performance, all involved worked with each other on the internet and this is the end result. An evening celebrating The Triffids and the wonderful songs of David McComb featured Robert McComb on vocals/guitar, Nicolas Puyane on piano, Conal McIntyre on vocals/guitar/mandolin, Mark Corcoran on vocals/guitar, Zoë Blackwell on vocals, Sharon McArdle on accordion and Seán Fee on vocals. Culture Club presents a very special performance and demonstrates the power of music and song. These songs are all earworms. Songs performed are Too Hot - Seabirds - One Soul Less on Your Fiery List - Jesus Calling - Tender Is the Night (The Long Fidelity). Footage filmed on 12th May, 2024 from the Backroom in the Spirit Store.
