How to Measure for a Work Collar, a SuperFlex or a Comfy Collar

I show how to measure for a collar in the longer How To Measure video    • How to Measure for a Horse Harness   but thought it would be a good idea to have a shorter video showing ONLY how to measure for a collar.
The key with the minis and small ponies is to be sure your squares, or L shaped cardboard pieces, are held very snugly to the top of the neck and the base of the neck to get a more accurate measurement.
When measuring a big horse I suggest you do a similar thing but you don't have to hold is as snugly.
There is an old wives tale that you can measure the top of the leg, around the forearm to get the collar measurement. This does NOT work for the minis and small ponies, reliably. I haven't found it to work well for the regular sized horses either. I think the exact spot you need to measure is too vague and leads to people measuring at different spots on different sized equines. I have found it to work fairly accurately on the draft horses. I suggest you measure all the different sized equines as I show in this video. Our 100% fit guarantee only applies if you measure!
