In this tutorial, we breakdown to edit the car hit effect in Final Cut Pro 10. This beginner effect emulates the car crash stunts done in Hollywood movies without the risk of getting hurt or damaging the driving car. This effect does not require any plugins or a green screen. It just uses built in Final Cut effects such as simple masking with draw mask and keyframes. It can be achieved with an only an iPhone and a computer with FCP. The same steps apply if editing on Premiere Pro.

This simple effect can be used when filmmaking and be included as a fun gag in your own films! You can also take it a step up and make it cinematic with sound effects (sound fx).
