Supporters of Eknath Shinde chanted "Bharat Mata Ki Jai" after the majority was announced by the speaker of Maharashtra assembly. Rebel MLA to Maha Vikas Aghadi government has got the support of 164 MLAs, while the former chief minister of Maharashtra Uddhav Thackeray got the support of 99 MLAs. Eknath Shinde, who was staying in Guwahati with almost 40 MLAs has now become the new chief minister of Maharashtra after a political tussle of more than a week.
