this song is v post-s2 penelope in all her suffering, but i'm of the opinion that colin's a lovable himbo and was never actively friend-zoning her, but trying to tell her just how much she means to him; "you are pen you do not count you are my friend [of course i'm not swearing off you even if i swear off every other woman on the planet]"

it's just that the way his delivery comes across is always in direct conflict with what pen wants to be hearing lol it's okay, girl! that's your man even if he doesn't know it yet, and when he does figure it out he's gonna pine for you and worship you SO. HARD. and i for one, need to watch their love story unfold YESTERDAY.
