Yosedofiemi is a tradition by the Krobo people in Eastern Ghana. It is performed by the family of the son in law to celebrate and honour either the late father or mother-in-law for giving birth to and raising a good wife for their family. Ironically, the dance is performed by the wife and her ‘sisters’.

This cultural performance takes place a day after the funeral of the late in-law. But in recent times, it done on the day of the funeral. A dance association with the son-in law's clan is one which is performed. It is supposedly the dance that attracted and lured the woman to the grounds that the couples met and fell in love. But stereo music is used nowadays.

After the traditional exchanges between the bereaved family and their in-law’s, permission is granted for the performance. The woman and her sisters dance round three times led by a woman carrying a basin full of presents for the in-laws. After the third round, the basin is placed in front of son in-laws. Afterwards, the woman is placed on the laps of all the men present. The men then put money on the lips or forehead of the woman.

The man then joins the wife in the dance and sprays money on her to appreciate her for her performance. The husband’s friends and familyalsoplace cash on the forehead of either of the couples as a
appreciationfor their dance moves.
