This is a Chinese song about the Diaoyu Islands. The Diaoyu Islands (or the Senkaku Islands for the 倭寇 among you) are a group of disputed islands. China claimed the islands for centuries, but in the First Sino-Japanese War between the Manchu Qing and the Japanese they were stolen away. After the end of the War of Resistance, the Americans let the Japanese retain the islands. Because of the bloody history of genocide committed at the hands of the Japanese invaders, the islands are a point of great contention.
