The Kathrine G. McGovern College of the Arts (KGMCA)- Project Row Houses (PRH) Fellowship is a multi-year program at the University of Houston that builds on Project Row Houses' history of leadership in social practice and community-engaged art projects. Founded as a partnership between the Center for Art & Social Engagement at UH and PRH, the KGMCA-PRH fellowship program was created in 2016 by Ryan N. Dennis, PRH’s curator and programs director and Sixto Wagan, director of the UH Center for Art & Social Engagement. The fellowship invites two artists and cultural practitioners to Houston’s Historic Third Ward neighborhood to work alongside urban planners, educators and policy makers. Each year the fellows engage in creative collaborations that involve the Historic Third Ward community and address issues important to its residents and our Houston communities.
