Marvel vs. Capcom 2 [DC] - play as 1st Abyss

Описание к видео Marvel vs. Capcom 2 [DC] - play as 1st Abyss

This is a play-through using 1st form Abyss in the Dreamcast version of Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Read on below for more information...

1st form Abyss is the boss you fight against on the final stage of this game in Arcade Mode, and comes in 3 forms. He is an unplayable character.

===== About 1st Abyss =====
Abyss is an original character designed by Capcom specially for MvC2. A lot of people have mistaken him on being a "Marvel" character, but he isn't. Instead, he's actually on the Capcom side.

His 1st form has him appear as a large character clad in a suit of armor called the Armor of Erosion. It is said that the armor is used to control Abyss' immense power.

Gameplay-wise, 1st form Abyss' biggest weakness is the fact that he cannot block. And because he is a "super armor" character (meaning he cannot be stunned), he eats up projectiles and beams for dinner. His best move by far is his Projectile Rain super move, which homes in on the opponent's position, inflicts high energy depletion and covers almost the whole screen.

===== Additional Information =====

---- On the versus screen, he doesn't have a portrait if he is the 1st character.

---- He has no basic moves.

---- He cannot block.

---- He cannot crouch down.

---- He doesn't have a walking back animation, but he still moves back.

---- He can jump and super jump, but has no jumping animations.

---- If you tag out with him, he just jumps away with his stance sprite.

---- If you tag him in, he'll turn into a projectile arrow on the ground and freeze. You can hit him out of this or he'll eventually recover.

---- If you have enough super gauge, trying to perform a Team Super (A1+A2) will have him perform a hit-less version of his Horn Toss.

---- If you're tagging him in for a team super, he'll perform a hit-less version of his Horn Toss.

---- Performing a F,D,DF + [HP] motion with him will lock and reset the game. It could be an unfinished move or a case of the motion leading into flawed data.

---- When controlled by a human player, if he is defeated, he doesn't transform into 2nd form Abyss. Instead, after he sinks into the ground that's the end of him.

---- On the winning screen, if he is the 1st character he has no portrait. However if he is the 2nd character in the middle or the 3rd character at the back, then he has Ryu's portrait.

---- It seems that the characters you select may affect which CPU opponents you face in single-player mode. In this case on Stage 4, 1st form Abyss appears as the 1st character on the CPU team. Normally, Abyss NEVER appears until the Final Stage. This could be down to Abyss being selected as a player character, which resulted in CPU Abyss appearing early on a team.

===== About MvC2 =====
Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is one of the best 2D fighting games from Capcom... the game is of course very unbalanced, but when it comes to replayability, sheer fun and mayhem, you probably won't find another 2D fighter that does it better than this. It is a shame that they did not include Apocalypse, Cyber-Akuma and both forms of Onslaught, as that would've completed the roster.
