You have exclusive access of some behind the scenes of our published wedding styled shoot. The theme for our wedding styled shoot was Minimalistic Nudes meets Vintage Hues inspired by milk bath designs. This wedding styled shoot was originally planned for February of 2020, but thanks to Covid-19, we had to postpone our styled shoot until July of 2020.

If you don't know what a wedding styled shoot is, it is a planned photoshoot working with different vendors or brands to create content for your portfolio.
As a wedding planner. there is so much that goes into creating a styled shoot it takes a village!

A week before our wedding styled shoot, I take you to the flower market here in San Diego with our florist as we scout for the perfect flowers to match our styled shoot theme. Then I take you to a rental showroom where we match the perfect linens for the table scape.

Top Tips for your next wedding styled shoot:
#1 The first thing you need is a mood board. The vision and design.
#2 Goals. You need to have your purpose for the shoot. Are these simply for content, do you want them for publication? Get very specific so everyone involved knows the ultimate goal.
#3 Choose a location: seems obvious, but location is key. Is in indoor, outside?
#4 Vendor team. Depending on the elements you need, I suggest collaborating with people that fit your aesthetic or brand, or people that may help elevate your brand and people you want to refer business to.
#5 Timeline. It is crucial you stick to that.
#6 Put together a shot list.
#7 Put together a checklist!
#8 If submitting to a wedding publication, have some in mind you are shooting for.
#9 keep images off social media! If you are submitting, make sure everyone knows to just wait to share their images. Often publications want exclusivity when sharing images, make sure to check each blogs rules
#10 Shoot- the day goes by so quickly you want to get set up and started right away.

I would also add #11 tip for your wedding styled shoot: KNOW YOUR BUDGET. As a planner, can you invest money on flowers, models, gowns, film for the photographer? Set a realistic goal on any money you have to spend on the details.
