Jesus Espana Wins The Closest Of 5000m Finals | Gothenburg 2006 | Road To Munich 2022

It was at the European Athletics Championships from Gothenburg in 2006 where Jesus Espana won his first major international title in the 5000m.

For years the Spanish distance runner had competed at events around the world, missing out on victory. But in 2006 that all changed.

Espana made it to the final in the Swedish city but faced stiff competition from some Europe’s top athletes, one of which was Mo Farah, who would later go on to win numerous international titles.

Espana emerged victorious in what is one of the closet 5000m finals you will ever see!
