Level-5 Tissue: In multicellular organisms, the cells which are similar in structure and function combine and form a group of celis called tissue. For example, in plants mesophyll tissue is made of cells which perform photosynthesis, while in animals, glandular tissue is made of cells which produce secretions.

Level-6 Organs: A group of different tissues which perform a specific activity is called an organ. For example, the organ stomach is made of two major tissues i.e.

Epithelial/glandular tissue: It secretes gastric juice for the digestion of proteins. Muscular tissue: It contracts and grinds the food in the stomach.

Level-7 Organ Systems: Many organs combine and form an organ system. Each organ system performs a particular function. For example, the blood circulatory system in animals is composed of organs such as heart, arteries, veins and capillaries. It circulates blood in the body of an animal.

Level-8 Organisms: Different organ systems combine and form an organism.

For example, in human different systems such as digestive system, respiratory system, blood circulatory system etc. combine and form a human body.

Similarly, in plants root and shoot systems combine and form a plant body.

Level-9 Population: A group of similar individuals in an area is called population.

Level-10 Community: Two or more populations of different organisms living together make a community.

Level-11 Ecosystem: The community and the non-living components of an area make an ecosystem.

Level-12 Biosphere: All the ecosystems of the planet Earth are collectively called biosphere
