This Place in History: Charlotte Whale

11,000 years ago the Champlain valley was an arm of the Atlantic Ocean. In 1849 railroad workers found the skeleton of a Beluga whale in Charlotte. The skeleton can be seen in the Perkins Museum at UVM.
