The magnetic particle testing (MT) can detect cracks and other discontinuities on or near the surfaces of
ferromagnetic and electrically conductive materials.

MT can be used either dry or wet magnetic powders. Dacon is also the distributor for Bycotest magnetic particle products in Thailand and Asia.

การทดสอบด้วยอนุภาคแม่เหล็ก (MT) เป็นเทคนิคการทดสอบโดยไม่ทำลาย (NDT) เพื่อตรวจหารอยแตก หรือจุดบกพร่องบนหรือใกล้พื้นผิวของชิ้นงานที่เป็นสารแม่เหล็กและวัตถุที่สามารถเป็นตัวนำไฟฟ้าได้ดี

วิธีนี้สามารถตรวจหารอยร้าวบนผิววัสดุที่เป็นเหล็กกล้าซึ่งมีรูปร่างซับซ้อนได้ ความไวของความไม่สมบูรณ์ที่เกิดอยู่บนพื้นผิวของวัตถุจะแสดงเด่นชัดที่สุดและค่อยๆจางลงเมื่อจุดบกพร่องนั้นอยู่ลึกลงไปใต้ผิว จุดบกพร่องที่พบบ่อย ได้แก่ รอยแตกร้าว รอยแตกที่ผิวเป็นลักษณะรอยต่อ รอยเกย ผิวลายบนโลหะที่ไม่เสมอกัน
