In the video I show you how I completed my garden room roof construction. This walks through the full process of installing the flat roof on a garden room.

Whether you're an experienced DIYer or a beginner, this is a pretty straight forward job. I do beliieve most people could achieve this by simply following the steps in this video.

The video guides you from the initial marking of the joists on the wall plate, to fixing the OSB on the roof. You will learn how to space joists at 400mm centres, ensuring accurate measurements.

This includes useful tips, such as marking the first joist at 380mm to insure the edges of your plasterboards land on a joist later in the project.

The guide continues with details about fixing the garden room joists in place, creating a string line for alignment, and how to install noggins for increased roof strength. I also discuss how to handle challenges that might arise, such as twisting timber, and aligning uneven ends.

Finally, we tackle the process of adding the OSB to your roof. Here, I give specific tips about handling, ideal fixings, and the importance of ensuring all edges of the OSB sheets land on a timber joist.
