The Greenway, Stratford Upon Avon

A 20 minute cycle ride from Long Marston to Stratford Upon Avon via Milcote along what is commonly know as the 'Greenway'. It was once part of the Great Western Railway line between Stratford-upon-Avon and Honeybourne. Trains continued to pass along the line until November 1976 when the line itself was closed. The Line was left in dis-repair until it was opened as the Greenway in 1989. I've cycled along here many times and this recording was done on a very quiet and dry day (Thursday 21st May 2015). At weekends and Bank Holidays it can be very busy, but still lovely to walk, cycle, jog or just sit on one of the many benches and listen to the birds and country sounds... It changes though the year and can be a different experience each time. If you're visiting Stratford and you'd like to experience the Greenway ask any local and they will point you in the right direction.
