Connect the dots! Pattern review M8114, S1806 ep 48-23

This week's challenge was to make something sleeveless. Unbeknown to either of us, we both picked sleeveless tops and polka dots! That's sisters for you!
Dory made her McCall's 8114 tunic from a pattern she got for 50 cents at a thrift store, near Chicago, Illinois. The pink and black polka dot fabric was from a thrift store in Michigan. The tunic was a quick make, consisting of four pieces all cut on the fold. An interesting way to finish it up with the shoulders done last.
Dee made Simplicity 1806 View B. She got this 2012 pattern on sale for $1.99 and the fabric was from mom's stash. She eliminated the ruffle because she didn't like the way the hem looked. She learned a new way to make a nice finish that looked like her own bias tape for the armholes. There were a few unusual things with the pattern, but she loves her top and it turned out great.
We also have included a viewers make of a beautiful purse made from seatbelts of all things! Thanks for sharing with us.
We hope you enjoyed this weeks challenge. Thank you for watching, Our mailing address is Dee and Dory, Design Dreamers, P.O. Box 122, Plainwell MI 49080
