If you have one where the pole that is supposed to extend ends up arriving like ours did. This is how you sort it. The guide, that is already god awful, doesn't mention this so until I'd got that worked out, I couldn't work out how the poles went together.

The screw part on the end, just push it in a little. Then it will go into the pipe and down the end where you can finally use it to tigten or loosen as it should.
