Penn Spine Center: Adult Spinal Deformity

Описание к видео Penn Spine Center: Adult Spinal Deformity

Penn Medicine’s Dr. Vincent Arlet and Dr. Ali Ozturk, surgeons at the Penn Spine Center, share the causes, symptoms, and treatments for adult spinal deformity.

Like many other parts of the body, the spine changes as we age. Aging is one of the main causes of spinal deformities, including:

•Scoliosis, which is an abnormal spinal curvature to the left or right

•Flatback syndrome, which is the loss of normal spine curvature, making it difficult or painful to stand upright

•Previous surgeries that did not address the initial problem or experienced complications

At Penn Medicine, we use the most advanced tools available to diagnose spinal deformities, including low-dose radiation EOS x-ray imaging. We pair that with a CAT scan, MRI, EMG, physical exams, and your individual medical history to develop the best possible treatment plan for you.
