Today I invite you to a short film (unedited) where I test global shadows (raytracing).
Thanks to the extraordinary commitment and skills of blue_max, the X-Wing Alliance enters a new era. The drop in frames is noticeable, but as blue_max wrote, this is a pre-optimized version, so it will only get better.
Shadows cast by objects do a really good job in this very old game (it's been 24 years since its release).
