As the Covid-19 lockdown restrictions continue to ease, the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch Railway became the spearhead for the return of passenger operations for heritage railways.

The RH&DR faced the elements with their purple timetable, featuring two trains in service working between New Romney, and the southern terminus at Dungeness. Pre-booking was essential for travel, with the railway working tirelessly throughout the day to enforce social distancing guidelines, and keeping public areas clean. Both locomotives in service were adorned by headboards, reading "Steam Trains return to Romney Marsh" in celebration of the railway's efforts, and all the volunteers and paid staff who brought the railway back to life.

At Dungeness, the locomotives ran around there respective coaching stock via the balloon loop, in order to keep the coach sets facing the same way throughout the day, easing operations and safety precautions at New Romney.

Locomotives:
RH&DR Pacific Class - No2 "Northern Chief"
RH&DR Mountain Class - No5 "Hercules"

All footage filmed on Saturday the 4th of July 2020.
