The King and Queen, together with Princess Leonor, preside over the Military Easter as they do every January 6. As it is a military event, the heiress has worn her Navy gala uniform, the same one she wore on October 12 at the celebrations for Hispanic Heritage Day.

The Royal Family arrived at the Plaza de la Armería of the Royal Palace in Madrid, the usual setting for this event, minutes before the clock struck noon to preside over the ceremony. A day that began with the national anthem and the sovereign reviewing the troops dressed in the uniform of a Captain of the Army.

In a few days, Leonor will begin a new stage of her military training by embarking on a six-month voyage aboard the Juan Sebastián Elcano, the most emblematic training ship of the Navy. Infanta Sofia did not attend the event as she is studying international baccalaureate at the prestigious UWC Atlantic College boarding school in Wales, where she has returned after a short holiday period.
