রোববার ১০ আগস্ট রাতে বরিশাল সরকারি বিএম কলেজে এ ঘটনা ঘটে। সংঘর্ষে স্বাস্থ্যখাত সংস্কার আন্দোলনে নেতৃত্ব দেয়া মহিউদ্দিন রনিসহ দুই পক্ষের কমপক্ষে ৮ জন আহত হয়েছেন। এ ঘটনায় উভয় পক্ষের পাঁচজনকে গুরুতর অবস্থায় শের-ই-বাংলা মেডিক্যাল কলেজ হাসপাতালে ভর্তি করা হয়েছে। রোববার বিকেলে নগরীর নথুল্লাবাদ এলাকায় স্বাস্থ্যখাত সংস্কার আন্দোলনকারীদের দুই গ্রুপের মধ্যে সংঘর্ষের ঘটনার সূত্র ধরে সমঝোতার নামে রাতে আবার সংঘর্ষ হয়। পুলিশ ও আহত সূত্রে জানা গেছে, রোববার স্বাস্থ্যখাতে সংস্কারের দাবিতে চলমান আন্দোলনের ১৪তম দিন বিকেলে নথুল্লাবাদ এলাকায় দুই গ্রুপ শিক্ষার্থীর মধ্যে সিনিয়র-জুনিয়র নিয়ে সংঘর্ষ হয়। সংঘর্ষের ঘটনাকে কেন্দ্র করে নথুল্লাবাদ এলাকায় দু গ্রুপের মধ্যে উত্তেজনা দেখা দেয়। এসময় পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে আনে সেনাবাহিনী।
