PDP Chief Mehbooba Mufti, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, has sparked controversy by comparing India with Bangladesh in terms of treatment of minorities. She stated that minorities are being targeted in India in the same way as in Bangladesh. The BJP has strongly criticised Mufti's comments, demanding stern action against her. The Hindu minority in Bangladesh has declined sharply over the years, now less than 8% of the population.
