This is a super basic tutorial explaining compression, multi band compression, and OTT (over the top compression). It's important we go over the most important thing in music... DYNAMICS. Today we learn how to use the main tool to control dynamics. We will test different types of sounds and examples to get an understanding of one of the most complex aspects of music production which is Compression.
So many types and so many ways to use it from on one single sound, to a group of music loops, to a whole master channel for mastering. Lets explore the sonic realm of compression and see why OTT is used so much in dubstep, riddim, and electronic dance music.
