I was clearing out old files on my PC and found a few levels I beat a year ago but never uploaded. Since my days of shelling are over, I thought I'd upload them as my little tribute to the only thing that made Mario Maker worth playing: #TeamShell.

I found out about TS when I saw Thab playing some levels while he was in Australia, and I thought I'd check them out. I was hardly playing Maker then: Endless Expert with skips was too easy, without skips was too hard, and Super Expert of any variety was a nightmare. In short, the game seemed pointless. Little did I know that there were thousands of amazing levels, carefully curated by a bunch of great people, ranging in difficulty from easy to utterly insane. And though I couldn't even do a shell jump at that point, I was immediately hooked. Cut to two years later and I was doing full donkers into shell swaps and, more surprisingly, knew what these weird phrases meant! 😎

As I depart the Mushroom Kingdom, some thanks are in order. First, the mods, especially Liaf and Pengy, the main mods during my time in the Team. I had never really been part of an internet community before TS, but I knew enough to know that they can easily become cesspits of bullying and toxicity. That TS was always a great place to hang out and so welcoming to newbies was in no small part down to their hard work. To me, reviewers were the backbone of TS. So many people spent so much time playing through levels, offering feedback and working with creators to fix issues, all to ensure that the quality of levels remained phenomenally high. You guys were/are amazing! Finally, and most importantly, a special thanks to anyone who ever made a TS level. Often when I'd upload a video, the creator would thank me for playing their level, and it always seemed backwards to me. Playing the level was the easy and fun part. As someone who was never really interested in making levels, but nevertheless made a bunch of thoroughly mediocre ones, I could only imagine the time, effort and dedication it must have taken to make something good. And so, to all the creators, THANK YOU!
