Neil wrote the Harvest Moon album as sort of an answer to his album Harvest from the early 70's. From Genius.com, "From his album of the same name, this song was written as a tribute to his wife, Pegi. The song celebrates longevity and fidelity in relationships, both in its lyrics and in a truly beautiful melody. The guitar, mixed with pedal steel guitar are out front, but what makes it so special is the background vocals that evoke a woman’s contentment with her man. All of it together represent the essence of beauty and romance." This song strikes me as happy and sad all at the same time. I could hear this being played at a wedding and a funeral!
