In this video I tried to explain the complete process of Death Claim in LIC. I have distributed the complete video in 4 Parts (Insurance, Do’s or Don’t, Documentation for Death claim and last is TAT-Turnaround time (Claim processing time) There are two types of Death Claim and both have different different processing deadlines:
1- EARLY DEATH CLAIM – these claims arise within the 3 years of purchasing the Life Insurance from the Company. Processing time for this is 30 working days and can be exceeds if more investigation required on the same.
2- NON EARLY DEATH CLAIM – these claims arise after the 3 years of purchasing the life insurance policy from the company and the processing time for these claims are 10 to 15 working days.
Following documents are required in case of Death Claim:
1- Original copy of Death certificate of Policy holder
2- Intimation letter (Hand Written or Typed)
3- Original copy LIC Bond
4- Copy of Identity Proof of the Policy Holder
5- Death Claim form (Available on LIC website & on LIC Branches)
6- Nominee Document – Identity Proof
7- Nominee Document – Pan Card
8- Nominee Document – Bank Details/Cancel Cheque
9- NEFT form for Bank Transfer (Available on LIC website & on LIC Branches)

In case of early death of the policy holder, following additional documents are also required: 1- Complete Hospital Investigation/Discharge report (Attested by the Hospital Authority)

A- Post Mortem Report
B- Police Investigation Report/F.I.R Copy.
