Concert Foreword

MisaTango by Argentine composer Martín Palmeri is a daring mix of sacred music (sometimes reminiscent of baroque polyphony) and tango! All the ordinary of the Mass is sung, but with a syncopated and energetic dance groove. Featuring the bandoneon—the emblematic instrument of tango—the symbiosis between sacred music and Latin American tones and the unconventional combination of “Tango” rhythms and classicism creates unique music full of passion and intense emotions.
