Underground fire continues to burn at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets

James City County (JCC) officials updated on Wednesday that the underground fire at the Williamsburg Premium Outlets is still burning and smoke has increased. Officials say that higher humidity is causing smokier conditions than what has been seen so far. Firefighters, the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality, the Environmental Protection Agency, and the Virginia Department of Emergency Management are still on the scene conducting tests to make sure environmental impacts are low and the area is safe.
