A strong carbon price signal is vital for the world's capacity to tackle climate change. The global bond market could play a central role in this challenge. "To avoid dangerous climate change we need investments of about ten trillion U.S. dollars by 2020," Nick Silver of the Climate Bonds Initiative states. "The only way you are going to get that kind of capital is from institutional investors like pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies."
