Steam Supreme: Severn Valley Railway 'Autumn Steam Gala' 2023

Mid-September saw the Severn Valley Railway hold their annual autumn steam extravaganza, from Thursday 14th to Sunday 17th. Joining the line's home fleet this year was B1 No.61306 'Mayflower', Ivatt 2MT No.41312, S160 No.2253 'Omaha' and Bagnall No.401 'Victor', courtesy of Locomotive Services Limited, the Mid Hants Railway, the Dartmouth Steam Railway and the North Tyneside Steam Railway, respectively.

As ever, an intensive timetable was in use, seeing a wide variety of passenger and goods workings running day and night. A highlight was the return of timetabled services calling at the re-built Eardington Halt for the first time in 40 years. A small reopening ceremony was conducted on the Thursday of the gala.

The event also saw the final autumn gala appearances of 34027 'Taw Valley' and 'Flying Pig' No.43106 before the expiry of their current boiler tickets. The former, unfortunately, doesn't feature in this video.
