An apology and an invitation!

I know I don’t need to apologise….but here we are.

My experience has taught me that promising a certain outcome and depth of transformation can feel overwhelming and unrealistic for many people.

It can be hard to hear about the view from the top of a mountain if you are struggling to just walk a few meters down the road.

It has felt inappropriate for me to speak to you about EXPANSION and EMPOWERMENT and LIFETIME benefits of art and art therapy when I know that so many people are struggling to SURVIVE and just the idea of picking up a paintbrush can feel HUGE.

I have been talking about healing power of art and doodling and how things don’t need to be perfect to express yourself.

Yet the benefits go beyond this surface level and are so profound

…..but I feel my cautiousness to not overwhelm you was unnecessary.

I realise that I was talking to a different part of you.

Ok what are you talking about Lesley?

So psychologically we all have different parts of ourselves called “sub selves”.

Have you ever had a decision to make and said…. “A part of me feels……xyz but another part of me feels …..abc”?

These parts show up for different reasons at different times….. you heard of the Ego right? The inner chimp? These are all different ways to explain it.

Anyway I think subconsciously I have been talking to the part of you that sometimes gets stuck, the part of you that is cautious and full of self doubt….. the part of you that is struggling.

But…. I know and trust that….You are more than this.

I want to be talking to your higher self….your truth….. the part of you that feels fire in your belly and gets excited at an opportunity and can knows that she deserves and is worthy of an amazing life.
