On December 4, 2025, San Juan Sheriff’s Office Task Force deputies attempted a traffic stop on Interstate 95 that quickly escalated into a dangerous pursuit.

The suspect fled the stop, drove the wrong way in traffic, and deputies executed a PIT maneuver. He then ran across the interstate, stole another vehicle, and continued fleeing through multiple locations.

After deploying stop sticks, the suspect abandoned the vehicle on railroad tracks and fled into wooded and marsh areas. With the help of K9 units and air support, deputies maintained visual contact and successfully took the suspect into custody.

The suspect was identified as 33-year-old Tomal Rico Bowe, an armed and dangerous INTERPOL fugitive with an active warrant out of the Bahamas for aggravated robbery. Additional warrants were confirmed out of Broward County.
