Zubeen Garg was laid to rest at Sonapur on September 23, amid thousands of grieving fans and admirers. Leaders including Kiren Rijiju, Sarbananda Sonowal, and CM Himanta Biswa Sarma paid floral tributes. Opposition leaders, student unions, and communities from across Assam and the Northeast also joined to honour him.

Artists, family, and well-wishers offered their last respects, while countless fans followed the ambulance carrying his mortal remains on the road to Sonapur. The cremation ground was filled with people singing “Mayabini” as they bid their final goodbye.

Zubeen Garg passed away on September 19 in Singapore, leaving behind a legacy that will live forever in the hearts of millions.
