In this ASMR Plumbing video, I’m showing how to fix a leaking radiator valve!

On this job, I got called out because when the customer turns the radiator valve on and off it causes the valve to leak!

The first thing to do is to switch the boiler off and drain a little bit of pressure out of the heating system from a drain point, which is normally from a radiator below. What’s the pressure has been dropped open up the radiator air vent to drain the water out of the system and the radiator your working on.

When I’m working on radiators I like to fully protect the customers property and especially light colour carpets! Using the Derblaue system with the new foldable drip tub as a water proof dust sheet and the folding buckets and slides I’m able to catch all the water with no fear of getting it on the carpet!

Remove the faulty valve from the nuts onto the radiator first to drain the majority out with still control from the valves. Once your happy remove the valve and nuts and olives and for the new valve with jointing compound on the olives.
